Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are assessed by the editor for suitability for the review process. The submitted papers will be submitted to double blind peer review. The reviewers are appointed by the Editor-in-chief. Within 90 days, the authors will be informed about the editor's decision.Manuscripts that are sent for formal review go to 2 referees. Based on their advice, the editor decides to:

  • accept the manuscript, with or without minor revision
  • invite the authors to revise the manuscript to address specific concerns before a final decision is reached
  • or reject the manuscript, typically on grounds of specialist interest, lack of novelty, insufficient conceptual advance or major technical and/or interpretational problems.

Once accepted, articles might be subject to minor corrections following the editorial rules.  Any changes in form, style or interpretation must be authorized by the authors. The reviewers might suggest changes before the manuscript publication. In case of manuscript rejection the corresponding author will receive the letter containing the reviewers’ comments on the manuscript.
